Tracy Lawrence has thrilled country music fans for years with songs like “Texas Tornado”, “You Find Out Who Your Friends Are” and “Paint Me A Birmingham” just to name a few, but now, one of the most noticeable voices in country music is back and better than ever! Headlights, Taillights and Radios is one of Tracy’s best efforts to date.
“Footprints on the Moon” kicks off the project and is a great opener to showcase what the project has in store for the listener, great songwriting, tight harmonies, stellar production and the unmistakable voice that is Tracy Lawrence.
“Stop Drop and Roll” brings a whole new meaning to the all too familiar words. The clever twist makes this song a fun and rocking story about a man and a woman and their smoking hot relationship. The hook is absolutely contagious and you will find yourself singing it for hours.
“Cecil’s Palace” is what I would call a ‘Texas Swing-A-Billy” kind of tune. It has everything that you would expect to hear in a song about Texas. Fiddles, Dallas Nascar, Beer, Drive Up Weddings, I mean come on, does it get any better than that? This is a fun tune that’s sure to be one of your favorites.
While Headlights, Taillights and Radios is loaded with rockin’, feel good tunes it also has some very poignant, heart felt ballads like “Saving Savannah”, “Good Girl” and “Butterfly”. One of my favorite ballads is, “Lie” embraces the feeling that we’ve all had. That moment when a friend sees your lost love out somewhere and you want you to tell them they are miserable too, whether it’s the truth or not. It’s an amazing song!
There are eleven gems on this project in all, and I’ve only touched on a few, but suffice it to say that Tracy Lawrence is not an artist that is resting on his past success and trying to re-hash new versions of old songs. Headlights, Taillights and Radios shows that this country music veteran can be and is just as relevant today as he ever was!
If you are a true country fan, this is a must have!
